The Lord’s Supper is dispensed quarterly – on the second Sabbaths of January, April, July and October. Persons wishing to join the membership of the Church are requested to make their desire known to the Minister. Members of other Evangelical Churches are welcomed as “occasional communicants.” A Preparation Class is held by the Minister previous to each Communion.
Baptism is administered the First Sabbath in each month. Members of the Church desiring baptism for their children, should give notice to the Minister in the course of the previous week.
The Service of Praise
A Class for the study and practice of Sacred Music is conducted by the Choir Master on Friday evenings, at 8 o’clock. All members of the Congregation are invited.
The Church is licensed for the celebration of Marriages, and further information may be had from the Minister.
In cases of affliction, the Minister earnestly requests that he may be favoured with early information. Members of the Congregation changing their residence, or aware of new arrivals from the North, will please inform the Minister as early as possible.
The Sabbath School
Meets in the morning at 9.30 and in the Afternoon at 2 o’clock; Mission School, Bath Street, 2.30 p.m. Quarterly Examinations by the Minister on the last Sabbath of each quarter: Parents and Friends of Scholars are invited to visit the Schools. The Scholars use collecting boxes for the China Mission.
The Teachers’ Prayer Meeting on the first and third Sabbath of each month at 3.30 p.m. Quarterly Tea and Business Meeting on the first Tuesday in March, June, September and December.
The Bible Class
For Young Men meets in the Vestry every Sabbath Afternoon, between the hours of 2 and 3 o’clock.
The Evangelistic and Tract Society
Manages and conducts the Bath Street Mission, and distributes Gospel Tracts in Bath Street and District, once a week. The Committee meets for business once a quarter, in the Vestry.
The Mutual Improvement Society
Meets at 8.30 o’clock every Wednesday evening during the Session, which begins in October and ends in March. The Congregation and Friends are cordially invited.
The Ladies’ Sewing Meeting
Meets every alternate Thursday at 2.30 p.m., in the Vestry. All the ladies of the Congregation are cordially invited.
The Mothers’ Meeting
Is held in the Schoolroom every Monday afternoon, between the hours of 2 and 4 o’clock.
The Temperance Society
Convened periodically by announcement from the pulpit, promotes the cause of Temperance by means of Lectures and Literature. All may join it who pay an annual subscription of one shilling.
The Band of Hope
Meets every Thursday evening at 7.30 in the Schoolroom. Friends and well-wishers cordially invited.
Persons desirous of engaging in any form of Christian activity are requested to communicate with the Minister or Clerk of Session.
The Committee of Management
Meets regularly on the first Thursday of each month at 8 p.m.
The Church is wholly dependent upon Voluntary Contributions.
The following are the sources of income: –

2. The Anniversary Collection
3. The Pew Rents
4 . The Dividend from the Sustentation Fund
Applications for Pews or Sittings may be made to Mr. N. C. Burnby, after Divine Service on Sabbath or Wednesday. Rent of Sittings, from two to five shillings per quarter.
The Contributions to this Fund are forwarded on 15th March, June, September and December, to the General Sustentation Committee in London by whom an annual dividend of £200 is paid to the Minister, as part of his stipend. Whatever sum the Congregation contributes above £200 a year goes to augment the stipends of Ministers of weak congregations. Members and adherents are earnestly invited to contribute to this Fund as far as possible.
Missions band Charities
Special collections are made for the Poor, the Sheffield Hospitals, the Sabbath School, and the Missionary and other schemes of the Synod of the Presbyterian Church of England.
