Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

Service Date:
21 January, 2018

Worship was led by The Revd. Sue Hammersley who preached on unity and the contemporary issues which enslave us. She described the work of Caribbean Churches working together to heal in the face of extreme social and economic problems. The Bible readings speak of change and the Revd. Hammersley reflected on how difficult and challenging change can be, especially changing mindsets to reach a unity where we can relate well even to people with whom we profoundly disagree. A current challenge to the church is that of atttitudes towards human sexuality. We must accept that God challenges us in those who are most unlike us, those with whom we most profoundly disagree.
