70 Years in St Andrew’s Choir

Instead of our usual weekly church choir practice next Thursday, 20th October, our choir and friends will be meeting at a local hostelry to celebrate one of our tenors, William J. Smyllie, who is celebrating seventy years as a member of the choir. As well as singing with our choir, Bill and his wife, Wendy, are also long-standing members of the Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus. Bill, who is still in very good voice, will lead the church choir as soloist in Maurice Greene’s anthem ‘Thou visitest the earth’ at next Sunday’s Harvest Festival service.

All of us here at St Andrew’s are pleased to wish Bill the most hearty congratulations on achieving this glorious milestone.
