Hall

Hall

The hall will comfortably hold 100 persons seated for dinner at long tables.  The large and small tables are stacked on the left side and held safely by restraining strap, when not in use.  About 60 stacked chairs are kept in the unlocked cupboard at the left rear (photograph below), no more than 6 in a stack.  For easily transporting a stack, a simple trolley is available in or adjacent to the cupboard. If more chairs are required, another 35 are available stacked toward the back of the church.  The trolley is required to transport them to the hall and they should be returned to the church after the event.

There is an audio loop in the hall.  A simple audio system is available and is plugged in to the left of the small stage.  There is a small pull down screen attached to the rear wall and the hooked pole to draw it down is kept in the sluice room off the kitchen.  A large screen  (8’ x 6’) is available, but needs to be assembled; it is kept in the vestry.  In winter it is difficult to stretch the plastic screen to fit the frame.

Carpets may be rolled up and moved to the Garden room, but should be replaced after sweeping the floor (brooms and a mop are also to be found in the sluice room). The Table with books for sale may be moved to the Garden Room, but should be later returned with the books similarly arranged.  It is inadvisable to move the settees, as they can only be taken through the door into the Garden room with difficulty (and causing damage to both door frame and settees).  Please do not rest anything on the piano in the hall.

The cupboard to the right rear is used to store toys, kept for the children during Child Contact Centre activity.  Between the two cupboards there is a small stage on which performers can stand.
